Maple Dental has been providing boutique dental experiences for Westchester County friends and families since 1957 – that’s six decades of personalized, compassionate, and meticulous dental care. In that time, we’ve continued to grow and evolve, prioritizing patient education along the way. While we’re happy to answer any questions you have and share the latest dental treatments during your appointments, we saw a need for a consistent and reliable place for our patients to turn to digitally as well. So, we created a blog!
Moving forward, we will update this platform with must-know oral hygiene tips, commonly asked questions we hear from patients, and more. In the meantime, you can read on to learn about our skilled dentists and what makes Maple Dental different!
Meet Our Skilled White Plains Dentists
Leading our team at Maple Dental are Dr. Gary Markovits and Dr. Shannon Abel. As a team, they use their decades of combined experience, extensive education, and advanced training to help those in their treatment chairs smile brighter. Here’s a little bit more about their journey to becoming dentists in White Plains.
Dr. Gary Markovits – For 40 years now, Dr. Markovits has done what he does best: helping patients achieve pain-free, confident, and healthy smiles! After earning his dental degree from the NYU College of Dentistry, he completed a General Practice Residency at the Jewish Hospital and Medical Center of Brooklyn, a periodontal fellowship at the Einstein Medical School, and a two-year dental implant fellowship at NYU. Over the course of his career, he has undergone more than 1,000 hours of continuing education, including courses through the world-renowned Pankey Institute.
Dr. Shannon Abel – Dr. Abel’s father was a dentist, so you could say helping others achieve healthier, happier smiles is in her blood! She chose to pursue her dental degree from the University of Maryland College of Dentistry before completing a one-year General Practice Residency at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. This experience allowed her to learn more about a wide range of specialties – she was even on-call in the ER! Today, she continues to stay up-to-date with the latest dental technology and techniques through active memberships with notable organizations, including the American Dental Association and the New York State Dental Association (9th District).
Here’s What Sets Our Team at Maple Dental Apart
In short, your smile deserves the absolute best care. So, why place it in the hands of our team at Maple Dental? It’s a fair question, and we have an answer: we’re different in all the right ways. While other dental practices expect you to conform to their schedule, we offer morning, evening, and lunchtime appointments throughout the week. Perhaps even better, we are open on select Saturdays!
Our team of exceptional dentists and dental professionals is also proud to provide a wide range of treatments in-house, from routine checkups to smile-transforming cosmetic dentistry. So, once you’re comfortable with us (which will happen sooner than you may think!), you won’t have to deal with a bunch of outside referrals.
Lastly, we utilize the latest dental technology, have complimentary on-site parking, prioritize patient safety, and offer sedation dentistry for patients who struggle with dental-related anxiety.
