Advanced Dental Services & Technology – White Plains, NY
How Advanced Technology Makes a Difference
At Maple Dental, we pride ourselves in maintaining a very up to date facility. Even though our dental office was founded more than 60 years ago, we have continued to grow and evolve, so today we are able to utilize the latest technology in order to make more accurate diagnoses and improve communication with our patients. This page goes into more detail about our technological offerings; you can see the difference they make for yourself after you schedule a consultation with Maple Dental Group.
Digital X-Rays
While we can learn a lot about your oral health just by examining your teeth and gums, there are some things that we can’t see with the naked eye alone. Taking an X-ray at least once a year can help reveal a number of oral health issues early enough for us to treat them more easily. We use digital radiography to reduce the amount of radiation that you’re exposed to during the process; this also minimizes the amount of time needed to develop the final image.
Intraoral Camera
An intraoral camera is invaluable when it comes to educating our patients and explaining potential treatments. We can take pictures of the inside of your mouth and then display them on our chairside monitor so that you can see your teeth and gums the way we do. This gives you a visual aid to help you understand what we’re talking about when we’re explaining your situation and why you might need the treatments that we’re recommending.
Digital Impressions
Before making a crown or another restoration, we need to create a model of your mouth to use as a reference. This helps ensure that the final restoration will be the right size, shape, and color. It used to be that the only way to take an impression was to make patients bite down on dental putty, but now we can scan your mouth to create a digital three-dimensional model instead. Not only is this more comfortable on your end, but the results are far more reliable.
Cavity Detection System
Even the smallest cavity can pose a serious risk to your tooth if it isn’t found and treated in time. To help us detect tooth decay wherever it might be hiding in your mouth, we use clinical exam, and have invested in a Diagnodent laser detector & Cari-Vu infrared imaging.
