Why Did You Decide
to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Markovits has always liked working with people, and being a dentist has allowed him to do exactly that for the past 40 years! Whether he’s getting someone out of pain or improving their self-image through cosmetic treatments, his goal with each patient is to give them a healthy, confident smile that they’ll enjoy for years to come. Before you have a chance to meet him in person, you can start getting to know Dr. Markovits below.
After earning his dental degree from the NYU College of Dentistry, Dr. Markovits completed a General Practice Residency at the Jewish Hospital and Medical Center of Brooklyn, and served as an attending dentist. He then attended a one-year periodontal fellowship at the Einstein Medical School followed by a two-year dental implant fellowship at NYU. Dr. Markovits also served as Chief of Dentistry at White Plains Hospital and Medical Center.
Over the decades, he has taken well over 1,000 hours of continuing education, including continuums through the Pankey Institute, Dawson Academy, and Spear Education. He also served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Oral Medicine at NYU.
Today, he still works to stay on top of the latest breakthroughs in dentistry through his many professional memberships:

Dr. Markovits is originally from White Plains, and he has two grown sons as well as two grandchildren. When he isn’t spending time with family, he likes to stay active by skiing, hiking, motorcycle riding, and scuba diving. He still loves to play music as well (guitar) and attend live concerts.
